Right now, Allure of the Seas, one of Royal Caribbean’s well-loved Oasis-class ships, doesn’t have any big thrilling water slides. It does still have two water parks with slides – H2O Zone and Splashaway Bay.
But it’s all set to change with a big refurbishment planned for early 2025. This update will add some amazing water slides, making the ship even more fun for families and thrill-seekers.

As part of a $165 million makeover, Allure of the Seas will be getting some fantastic new water slides:
The Perfect Storm Trio:
- Cyclone: A fast-paced slide with lots of twists and turns, perfect for an adrenaline rush.
- Typhoon: Similar to Cyclone, this slide also offers a thrilling ride with its unique twists and turns.
- Supercell: This one ends in a big bowl where you’ll spin around before dropping into a splash pool.
- Ultimate Abyss: Known as the tallest dry slide at sea, this multi-deck slide will take you from Deck 16 to Deck 6 through dark tunnels with exciting light and sound effects, offering a heart-pounding experience.
The H2O Zone
The H2O Zone on the Allure of the Seas is a fun and colourful water park designed primarily for kids. Suitable for a broader age range, including older kids and pre-teens. It features:
Interactive Water Play Area: The H2O Zone is equipped with various interactive water features such as water cannons, geysers, and spray jets, providing endless entertainment for children.
Splash Pool: A shallow pool where kids can safely play and splash around under the supervision of their parents or guardians.
Giant Water-Spraying Octopus: This central feature of the H2O Zone is a large, colorful octopus sculpture that sprays water from its tentacles, adding to the fun and excitement.
Additional Sculptures: The water park includes multicolored sculptures that spray water, contributing to the playful and vibrant atmosphere.
Lazy River Pool: A section designed to resemble a lazy river where kids can float along and enjoy the gentle current.
Free Frozen Yogurt Dispenser: To keep the kids refreshed, the H2O Zone includes a dispenser offering free frozen yogurt.
Shallow Pools: Besides the splash pool, there are shallow pools where kids can paddle and play in the water safely. Designed for babies and toddlers in swim diapers with various splash and spray features.
Swim Diapers Requirement: In the splash pool, swim diapers are allowed, but for the other pools, kids must be toilet trained to use them
Splashaway Bay
Splashaway Bay on Allure of the Seas is another water park that includes several types of water slides designed specifically for young children. Here are the details:
Mini Water Slides: These slides are shorter and slower, perfect for younger kids who are just getting comfortable with water slides. They provide a gentle and fun experience without being too intimidating.
Twisting Slides: Some slides have gentle twists and turns, adding a bit more excitement while still being suitable for children. These slides are designed to be thrilling yet safe for young riders.
Straight Slides: These are simpler slides that go straight down into the splash pool, providing a quick and easy ride that’s still a lot of fun.
Interactive Elements: Alongside the water slides, Splashaway Bay also features interactive water elements like water cannons, fountains, and tipping buckets. These additions enhance the overall play experience, making it a dynamic water playground
Surf Simulators
The Allure of the Seas boasts two exciting FlowRider surf simulators, located at the stern on Deck 16. These simulators are a highlight for many passengers, offering a fun and challenging way to experience surfing and boogie boarding right on the ship.
Key Features of the FlowRider Surf Simulators
Location and Layout:
- Positioned at the very back of Deck 16, the two FlowRiders are side by side, making it easy for guests to switch between the two different surfing experiences.
- The location also provides great views of the ocean, adding to the excitement of the ride.
Types of Surfing:
- Stand-Up Surfing: One of the FlowRiders is dedicated to stand-up surfing, where guests can ride the waves on a surfboard. This option is perfect for those who want to test their balance and skills.
- Boogie Boarding: The other FlowRider is set up for boogie boarding, which is great for beginners or those who prefer riding the waves lying down or on their knees.
Design and Technology:
- The FlowRiders use high-pressure water jets to create a thin sheet of water that flows over a cushioned surface, mimicking the experience of riding a real wave.
- This design helps ensure a safe and fun ride, reducing the risk of injury even if you take a tumble.
Safety and Training:
- Before riding, guests must sign a waiver and receive a brief training session from the staff to ensure they understand how to use the FlowRiders safely.
- Helmets and other safety gear are provided, and staff members are always on hand to assist riders and ensure everyone stays safe.
Popularity and Accessibility:
- The FlowRiders are among the most popular attractions on Allure of the Seas, often drawing crowds of spectators who enjoy watching the action.
- The simulators are open to guests of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced surfers. Private lessons are available for those who want to improve their skills quickly.
Additional Amenities:
- The Wipeout Bar is conveniently located between the two FlowRiders, offering a place to relax and grab a drink while watching the surfers in action
