Fiji’s cruise ports are Suva, Lautoka, Port Denarau, Savusavu and Dravuni, with Levuka on Ovalau making six. You walk straight off at Suva and Lautoka; every other call is a tender. Lautoka is also where Fiji cruises start and finish.
Fiji cruise ports map
Fiji has 5 cruise ports: Savusavu in the north-east; Dravuni in the south-east; Suva in the south; Lautoka and Port Denarau in the west. Tap a pin to open that port’s guide.
Suva: Kings Wharf and a walkable city centre
Ships tie up alongside at Kings Wharf, the 492 m main quay, and you walk out through the port gate onto a working waterfront. Container ships and cargo share the view, so it’s not a postcard promenade, but the city centre is a flat 10 to 15 minute walk and the Municipal Market is 5 to 12 minutes on foot.
That makes Suva the easiest Fiji port to do without a plan. It’s best for a city day: the market, the curry houses around the centre, and the Fiji Museum at Thurston Gardens, about 2.5 km and a 10 minute taxi away.
Taxis wait at the port exit, and not all of them run a meter. Agree the fare before you get in.
Lautoka: Queens Wharf, the turnaround port
Ships tie up at Queens Wharf, a 295 m berth, and you walk off onto Waterfront Road through the port security gates. The Municipal Market, Vitogo Parade and TappooCity are all 1 to 1.2 km away.
Lautoka is Fiji’s turnaround port as well as a port of call, and Queens Wharf has handled a full turnaround of a 2,000 passenger ship with 1,000 crew. It’s best for joining or leaving a ship, with a market wander on the way if you have a few hours spare.

Port Denarau: tender to the marina and the Mamanuca ferries
Port Denarau is a marina, not a cruise terminal. You’re not walking into a town here; the marina is the whole set-up.
Large ships anchor in Nadi Bay and tender you to the marina jetty, 15 to 20 minutes each way. Smaller vessels such as Captain Cook Cruises and Blue Lagoon Cruises berth at the wharf, so you walk straight on.
It sits on Denarau Island on the west coast of Viti Levu, about 20 minutes by road from Nadi International Airport. The marina is Fiji’s hub for ferries and day boats to the Mamanuca and Yasawa groups, with tour desks, shops, a supermarket, a pharmacy, a bakery and restaurants around the dock.
It’s best for a boat day: South Sea Island is about 30 minutes out by high speed catamaran.
Savusavu: tenders to the town wharf by the Copra Shed Marina
Savusavu has no cruise pier, so the ship anchors in the bay and tenders you to the town wharf and the Copra Shed Marina at one end of the main street. That ride is about 10 to 12 minutes each way.
When the ship is busy the queue can run 30 to 45 minutes each way, and squalls can pause tenders for 20 to 30 minutes. They don’t check your schedule, so build slack into your day.
It’s best for a low-key wander: shops, market stalls and waterfront cafes are a short walk from the landing.
Dravuni: a tender landing on a beach with no shops
Dravuni is tender only. Ships anchor about 500 m offshore in the sheltered lagoon and run tenders to the beach landing on an island roughly 2 km by 0.5 km, with one village of fewer than 200 people, no roads and no cars.
There’s no shopping street, no town and nowhere to rent snorkel gear, so bring your mask, fins and reef-safe sunscreen from the ship. Carry small Fijian dollar notes too: the craft and food tables along the beach crest take cash only and cannot break large ones.
It’s best for a beach and snorkel day inside the Great Astrolabe Reef, with a 20 to 30 minute round trip up the hill trail to a lookout at about 45 m at the southern end.
Join the return tender queue 45 to 60 minutes before the last tender goes. There’s no other way back to the ship.
Levuka (Ovalau): tenders to the jetty on Beach Street
You come ashore at Levuka Town Jetty on Beach Street, 10 to 15 minutes from the anchorage. The whole colonial town is walkable within about 1 km of the landing.
It’s best for the timber frontages, the sea wall and harbour views, and the climb to the 199 Steps and Mission Hill. The Beach Street boardwalks and the steps are slippery when wet, and the drains are deep enough to catch a sandal.
Fiji cruise port FAQs
What cruise lines go to Fiji?
Cruise lines with scheduled Fiji calls include Princess, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn, Silversea, Ponant, Scenic, Viking and Holland America. Majestic Princess, Voyager of the Seas, Carnival Spirit, Celebrity Solstice, Norwegian Spirit and Silver Cloud are among the ships that have called at Fijian ports.
Where do Fiji cruises leave from?
Fiji cruises start and end at Lautoka, with published sailings including Norwegian Spirit and Oceania Riviera, and Ponant, Seabourn, Regent and Crystal ships also sailing from Queens Wharf. Nadi International Airport is roughly 30 to 40 minutes away by road.
Which airport do I fly into for a Fiji cruise?
You fly into Nadi International Airport, about 20 minutes from Port Denarau and 30 to 40 minutes from Queens Wharf. If you’re sailing from Suva, Nausori Airport is about 23 km from the city, a 30 to 45 minute drive, while the road from Nadi to Suva is roughly 190 km and 3.5 to 4 hours.
Is Dravuni always a port call?
Dravuni isn’t always a port call. Roughly 8 to 15% of calls are missed when swell makes the beach landing unsafe, so keep your plans for the island flexible.
Is there a beach at Suva?
Suva has no swimmable beaches in the city itself. The nearest is Pacific Harbour, about 50 km and 50 minutes from the wharf by taxi, which is a long way for a port day, so most passengers use Suva for the market, the museum and the city centre.
What are the Fiji Museum’s opening hours?
The Fiji Museum in Thurston Gardens opens 9.00am to 4.30pm every day, including public holidays, and closes on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday and Diwali. You can book guided tours ahead.
Where can I see a kava ceremony?
You can see a kava ceremony as a shore experience at Port Denarau and on village tours in the Nadi area. To simply try it, kava is sold and drunk at Suva Municipal Market, 5 to 12 minutes on foot from Kings Wharf.
Which other Fiji islands do cruise ships call at?
Other Fiji islands with cruise calls include Taveuni, Kadavu and the Lau islands of Vanuabalavu and Fulaga, alongside Suva, Lautoka, Savusavu and Levuka.
